Comptroller Biography: Thomas P. DiNapoli, a
graduate of Hofstra University and The New York University's
Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy, has served as
State Comptroller since 2007. He previously served in the state
assembly for 20 years and was instrumental in drafting and
passing legislation on environmental and school accountability
issues.
Responsibilities: The State Comptroller
oversees the fiscal affairs of the State of New York, auditing
state and local government spending as well as managing the
state pension fund and retirement system, analyzing state and
local budgets, evaluating state contracts, and disbursing funds
from the State Oil Spill Fund.
