Comptroller Biography: Kim Garnero is the
Director of the Division of Finance under the Department of
Administration in Alaska since 2007. Kim holds an MBA from the
University of Alaska Southeast, and the professional CPA
license, as well as holding various certificates relevant to
her state position such as the Auditor, financial state manager
and Project Manager designations. Over the past 26 years Kim
held various positions within Alaska Department of
Administration that are related to auditing and financial
control. Before her State career she taught classes in
Accounting Information Systems at the University of Alaska.
Responsibilities: The Division of Finance
office is concerned with the ususal tasks encountred at a
comptroller's office. In fact, this office provides up-to-date
information about the accounting expenditures, state payroll
schedules, and state vehical usage. It also deals with
accounting for attendance and time issues for the state
employees and the whole state's financial reports. Accounting,
Payroll, Travel, Moving forms and special office program forms
such as the One Card Alaska are all available at the office or
from their website for citizens.
